Media consumption audit

Media consumption audit

Newspapers

In terms of newspapers, I tend to read the 'The Guardian' and 'BBC News' predominantly as well as the 'Daily Mail' here and there just for the fun of it. When I read these publications not only do I do it on my mobile phone as oppose to obtaining physical copies due to more simpler accessibility offered by the smartphone, but I also rush to the technology section. After having read over the top stories of the day and the news of the world in general as a means of just being aware of current affairs, I go to the technology section since I possess quite an avid interest for the happenings in the technological world whether it be about new iterations in the Android operating system or developments in virtual reality.

Television

I actually don't watch television particularly often and maybe that's due to the fact that there's applications such as YouTube which allow for more in variety in what you can view. However when I do watch TV, it's usually the news and that's about as far as it goes. When they're on though, I watch 'The Apprentice' for it's more funnier moments and 'Youngers' for its depiction of London teenagers venturing into the music industry.

Radio

I actually happen to not listen to the radio at all whatsoever. This may be due to the fact that I don't happen to be the biggest fan of mainstream music by any means and I also tend to listen to more artists from the U.S rather than from the U.K.

Cinema

I don't get the opportunity to watch films that often due to timing constraints with things like homework and school in general. When I do watch them however, it tends to be with friends at the cinema and the last one I did go and watch was 'Fast and Furious 7,' which in my opinion wasn't all that it was cut out to be.

Online

I access the internet on a daily basis whether that be at home or school for primarily research, educational and entertainment purposes. With this said websites I frequent on my laptop and phone are 'theverge.com' for technological updates, 'rap.genius.com' for in-depth annotations of lines of from rap songs I want to decipher and 'google.co.uk' because well, it's Google. When it comes to social networks though, the one I use primarily is Instagram due to my admiration for the concept of photography and videography. However I'm going to be using it nowhere near as often as I did during the summer holiday due to the challenges posed by the next 2 years of A-levels and also a developing questioning of social networks in general.
